Acnodes Corp. has released a new fanless embedded system known as the FES5530. It features an Atom N2600 1.6GHz dual core processor and utilizes an NM10 Express chipset. The FES5530 has an IP40 rated, rugged aluminum, heavy-duty steel enclosure that’s been tested  in operating temperatures of 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to +50°C) and can endure severe environments. With its fanless design, the FES5530 provides not only high performance and reliability but also noiseless and power saving benefits. In addition, the FES5530 has a built in CFast card slot that can endure vibrations of up to 3 Grms. It also features a lockable DC-in connector which also significantly reduces the impact of vibration and shock. Acnodes FES5530 is an application-ready platform that enables users to run demanding applications in the field, floor or office environments. This unit is ideal for in-vehicle PCs, in-flight infotainment systems, digital signage, entry-level gaming, medical healthcare, and other automation and embedded applications. Its compact size measuring only 6.31”(W) x 2.36”(H) x 5.33”(D) makes this system an ideal fit on to space limited environment, yet still capable of offering rich I/O connections.

FES5530 has full feature I/Os including one RS-232/422/485 port, one RS-232 port, one 10/100/1000 LAN port, four USB ports, audio (Mic-in/Line-out) and an optional VGA or DisplayPort interface. For high-capacity data storage, one 2.5 inch SATA drive bay and one CFast card slot is supported, and is available with up to 2 GB 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM system memory. It supports various embedded operating systems including Windows 7 Embedded and Linux. FES5530 has a built-in Watchdog Timer to reset the system after a crash or system error, which reduces the need for maintenance. Moreover, FES5530 can be din-rail mounted, wall mounted, VESA mounted or stand-mounted, enables easy installation in various applications with confined spaces.
