Wide range working temperature and low power consumption rugged embedded PC

This rugged embedded controller has an excellent cooling and thermal design, with a wide operating temperature range of -10°C to +50°C. Acnodes developed the FES8621 with versatility and flexibility in mind and offers an additional internal SATA HDD, four USB ports as well as extra internal USB WiFi to fulfill the varying needs of embedded applications.

The FES8621 rugged fanless embedded PC is equipped with an Atom D525 1.8GHz dual core low power processor and an ICH8M chipset. Its memory contains one DDR3 800 SODIMM and a max of 4 GB. It features 3 COM ports and 4 USB 2.0 ports. For storage, it includes a one 2.5 inch SATA HD and one front open Compact Flash slot. To address demand for rich network and wireless connection (Wi-Fi or 3G/GPRS), the FES8621 is also supplied with one mini PCI Express slot and one internal USB WiFi mounting space for expansion. The system also supports VGA video outputs.

The embedded system features a flexible range of operational temperatures: Operation: -10°C ~ 55°C Storage: -20°C to 80 °C Humidity: 10~90%, non-condensing Vibration: 2G, 5~500Hz, X,Y,Z directions.

With an IP40 steel construction, the system can endure vibrations and the harsh industrial environments and prevent dirt and dust from damage. make it to reliably operate in any space-limited and outdoor environment, t his rugged unit meets Safety Agency requirements and has passed heavy industrial EMI/EMS testing, It is also equipped with a wide range of power supply which supports a 9V to 34V DC. The embedded PC’s fanless design allows for reliable and noiseless performance. At just 4.36 lbs, this small design is ideal for space constricted environments.

How to change ATX to AT power mode?
Locate jumper (JP1) inside the internal embedded system board. Once JP1 has been located, you will need to remove the jumper from the two pins. This will enable AT power mode (auto power) for the FES8621.
